Dutch Design Apartments in Andalucia: At Mijas Golf near Fuengirola, Spain

We are John and Patricia from Eindhoven in the Netherlands and we bought our first apartment "Casa Puebla Aida" in 2017. We have been coming to Spain for years, especially in the area between Malaga and Marbella. We like to play golf and for that Andalucia is "the place to be".
Then we fell in love with the area with its rugged landscapes, beautiful cities. In addition, the people are relaxed, the food is delicious and affordable and the climate is fantastic. Those were the reasons to look for a place of our own under the Spanish sun.
With Casa Puebla aida we have found a beautiful apartment with a spacious terrace that provides beautiful views over the golf course and the hills around Mijas.
Two years later we bought the second apartment "Casa Hoyo 16". A beautiful bright apartment with a spacious living room and open kitchen. It is located on the other side of Mijas golf and the terrace overlooks the golf course.
Recently we became the proud owners of our third apartment. "Casa En Viento" Yet again a completely different apartment that is somewhat sheltered, right on the street, making access very easy. It has 2 spacious terraces so you can always find a bit of shade. From the terrace you are within 15 meters of the pool with a magnificent view over the hills around Mijas.
Things to see and do
We are only 10 minutes away from the beach of Fuengirola by car. There are a few small shops in the vicinity. Shopping mails (Miramar and El Corte Ingles) and the large supermarkets like Lidl, Aldi, Carrefour and Mercadona will only take you 5 minutes by car.
In close vicinity of the apartments you will find a lot of golf courses.. For those who find hiking not quite exciting enough (there are walking trails in the near vicinity of around 100 km) you may like to try mountaineering, rock climbing or caving. If you are not afraid of heights, you can also walk the Caminito del Rey. You can drive there yourself, but there is now also a direct train that runs twice a day from Malaga to El Chorro.
City trips can be made to Grenada, Ronda, Malaga, Marbella, Cordoba, Sevilla and Gibraltar.
Directions and location
Arriving at Malaga airport you can rent a car or take the train to Fuengirola. It is a 25 minutes drive by car to reach our apartments. Arriving by train in Fuengriola (3,60 Eur and takes 25 min from the airport) you can take a taxi to Hoyo 16 or Puebla Aida. This will take you approximately 10 minutes and costs arround euro 12.
